When the Faculty was designated a Centre of Excellence by the European Commission, the COMODEC Centre of Excellence was established. Thanks to the EU’s 5th Framework Programme project, the Faculty has strengthened its ties with important scientific centres throughout the EU. Its research work and quality control have developed a good reputation, especially among the Advisory Board’s members, namely: J.C. Marchon (CNRS Grenoble), K. Dusek (CzAS, Prague), and R. Sheldon (Delft). The Centre hosts conferences and lectures given by specialists from abroad and the Faculty’s staff have been invited to lecture in foreign centres for scientific research and encouraged to participate in numerous workshops organised abroad.
